Mr Kearns' End of Term Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we reach the end of another academic year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support, encouragement and partnership. The success of Queen’s Park High School is built upon the strength of our school community, and the support we receive from families plays a vital role in helping our students thrive.

This has been a highly successful year for our school. Our students have achieved so much, both inside and outside the classroom, and we have continued to build upon the strong foundations that make Queen’s Park High School such a special place to learn and work. None of this would be possible without the dedication, commitment and professionalism of our teaching and support staff. Every day, they go above and beyond to support our young people, and I would like to extend my sincere thanks to them for all they have contributed this year.

We are also looking forward with great excitement to celebrating two sets of examination results over the coming weeks. We wish all of our Year 11 and Sixth Form students every success and look forward to recognising and celebrating their achievements when A Level and GCSE results are published.

Farewell, good luck and thank you

At the end of the academic year, we also say farewell to a number of valued colleagues who will be leaving us to embark on new opportunities.

  • Miss Brandreth leaves us to take up a promoted position at The County High School, Leftwich, following 23 years supporting students in our SEND department. During her time at Queen’s Park High School she has positively impacted the lives of countless young people and families, and her contribution to our school community has been exceptional.

  • Miss Worthington has successfully secured a position within a law firm.

  • Miss Longson retires after many years of dedicated service to education.

  • Mrs Walsh moves on to Christleton High School as a Head of Faculty.

  • Miss Jones is taking time to travel and pursue new adventures.

  • Mrs Darroch begins an exciting new chapter teaching in Dubai.

  • Mr Ramsden, who has never worked anywhere other than Queen’s Park High School since joining us after completing his Sixth Form studies, leaves to take up a promoted position with one of our local alternative education providers.

Each of these colleagues has made a significant contribution to our school and has left their mark on the Queen’s Park community. Whilst we will miss them greatly, we thank them for everything they have done and wish them every success and happiness for the future.

We also say a semi-goodbye to Mr Yeoman. After an incredible 22 years of service to Queen’s Park High School, Mr Yeoman will be moving next door to Chester International School, where he will support and lead the school through its next chapter of continued success. We are delighted that he will remain part of our wider school family and look forward to continuing to work closely with him.

Looking ahead

We look forward to welcoming students back in September. School will reopen on:

Wednesday 2nd September, with Year 7 students returning at 8.40am and Years 8–13 returning at 9.40am.

As part of our return in September, we will be rolling out our Yondr phone pouches to all students in Years 7–11. Further information about the implementation of this initiative will be shared with families before the start of term.

Finally, I would like to wish all of our students, families and staff a wonderful summer break. I hope you enjoy a safe, restful and fun-filled holiday with family and friends. Thank you once again for your support throughout the year.

As we reflect on another successful year, there is much to be proud of and much to look forward to. We are excited for the opportunities ahead, and I have every confidence that together we will continue to build on our success.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back in September for another fantastic year at Queen’s Park High School.

Yours faithfully,

Tom Kearns
