Due to the popularity of LJMU Student Support Sessions they have produced another schedule of events to complement their Open Days on 14th and 21st November (see full schedule below). 

12th November – 7pm

Discover LJMU Webinar with Student Life

Interested in Liverpool John Moores University? This presentation will cover the student experience of LJMU, incorporating student insights from a current student.

In this webinar they'll go behind the scenes of their campuses to discuss facilities, courses and student opportunities within their 5 faculties. This webinar will finish with a Q&A with a member of the Outreach team and current student(s) for you to ask all questions about LJMU and Liverpool!

16th November – 6pm

EPQ Support and Preparation for University Guidance

If you're currently studying for your EPQ and you'd like to know more about the benefits of studying independently, where to get the best resources and how to reference, this session is for you!

If you're interested in getting as prepared as possible for university, this session will incorporate the key skills you will develop over your first year of study. By attending this session you'll be ahead of others and ready to start University in September.

Applying for Competitive Courses and Interview Preparation in a Covid World

Applying for a competitive course at university? Does your course interview or require work experience?

This handy webinar will guide you through the most up to date information on applying for courses such as Nursing, Law, Psychology and more. Advice will be given for how to be creative in your personal statement with work experience in a Covid-19 world. With many placements cancelled due to the ongoing pandemic, this presentation will outline ways to gain valuable experience prior to starting your course.

18th November – 6pm

UCAS & Personal Statement Masterclass

Whether you're just starting your UCAS application or are on your final draft of your personal statement, this presentation will outline the key points admissions tutors are looking for from applications. With the competition for university places becoming tougher each year, the need for a strong UCAS personal statement is a crucial part of a student’s application.

Full guidance on the UCAS apply and track process will be delivered, with key dates and actions discussed throughout. An opportunity to ask questions at the end of the session to members of the LJMU' outreach team via the Q&A tool will be available to all attendees.

19th November – 7pm

Parent's guide to University including Student Finance

If you are a parent, carer or guardian who has a son/daughter attending university in the near future, this session will provide all the latest information on the application process, choosing courses and student finance.

Delivered in conjunction with the Student Advice and Wellbeing team, they will dispel myths of student finance whilst making you aware of average costs of attending university and living in student accommodation. Further guidance on free student support, such as bursaries and scholarships will be available.

The session will close with a Q&A session with members from LJMU's Outreach team and Student Funding team.

20th November – 6pm

A Student's Guide to Applying to University

Join current LJMU students as they discuss their application journey to University. They will talk about open days, personal statements, reasons why they chose their courses and more.

The webinar will allow participants to ask the student panel questions about their experiences, and how they found the transition to university.
