GCSE Results 2024

We are celebrating another year of academic excellence as our Year 11 students receive fantastic GCSE results, with 21% of all grades achieved being 9-7 (A*-A)!

Results continue to buck the trend in post-pandemic education with higher than average attainment across the curriculum. More students are achieving grades 9-5 in English and maths and in at least two science subjects compared to national data. Also, outcomes in humanities subjects are the best in recent history with more students achieving grades 9-5 and 9-4 than ever.

We are extremely proud of all of our learners at Queen’s Park, but must commend the following students who have demonstrated outstanding academic results across their GCSEs:

  • Rhys Dunkerley – Seven grade 9s, one grade 8 and one grade 5
  • Jasmine Davies – Four grade 9s, three grade 8s, one grade 7 and one grade 6
  • George Tranter – Four grade 9s, two grade 8s, one grade 7, one grade 6 and one grade 5
  • Daisy Hopkins – Three grade 9s, two grade 8, two grade 7s and two grade 6s.
  • Evie Middleton – Three grade 9s, two grade 8, two grade 7s, one grade 6 and one grade 5
  • Alice Twigg - Three grade 9s, two grade 8, three grade 7s and one grade 6.

A special mention also goes to our five sets of twins in Year 11, who between them got a combined total of forty-three 9-7 grades.

“I am immensely proud that the determination and hard work shown by the Class of 2024 has paid off. This morning, Queen’s Park High School has been filled with laughter, smiles and a sense of celebration. I am so happy for all students who collected their GCSE results today, which will open the door to their next stage of education. Class of 2024 - Go on and achieve your dreams!”

Mr Tom Kearns, Headteacher

“I am extremely proud of all the efforts and outcomes for my year group. They have shown resilience throughout the challenges over the past 5 years and the GCSE results reflect the hard work and tenacity from each and every student. I wish them well for the next stage of their educational journey and I know that they will continue to do us proud.”

Miss Cara Davies, Head of Year 11

The successful GCSE outcomes are also reflected in uptake to the school’s Sixth Form with record numbers of applications.
