Season of Giving

Support Christmas Jumper Day and your local food bank this Friday 11th December 2020

Christmas Jumper Day

Our Sixth Form Leadership Team are running this event to raise money for Save the Children. Friday 11th December will be a non-uniform day for students (students to donate £1), when they will be encouraged to either come to school in a Christmas jumper or with a Christmas theme to their attire.

As it's the season of giving, we can't think of a better way to spread the spirit of Christmas than to support our local food bank. We are encouraging all our students to bring in food donations and share a gift of kindness to those local people in crisis this Christmas.

We want to make sure that no one in our local community has to go hungry this Christmas, but we need our staff and students help to make this happen. With our support and gifts of food, we can make a real difference. West Cheshire Food Bank are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, that work to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

On Friday we are encouraging our staff and students to support our drive to help those in need this Christmas and bring to school non-perishable food items which we will collect on entry and then donate to our local Food Bank.

A list of the most needed items for the West Cheshire food bank is shown below:

Items most needed in December

  • UHT milk
  • Long life juice/small bottles of cordial
  • Tinned potatoes
  • Instant custard
  • Instant mash
  • Tinned puddings/fruit
  • Cuppa soups
  • Pasta sauce
(other non-perishable items will also be accepted)

Any donations will be greatly received – it would be fantastic if we could beat the 243Kg total that we managed to donate last year!

Thank you for any support which you feel you are able to offer in these challenging times.
