Open Evening - Wednesday 17th September 2025; 6pm-8pm
Discover the excellence at Queen's Park High School and why we are the proud winners of the 'School of the Year' Standard Education Awards 2024.
We are delighted to invite Year 5 and Year 6 children and their families to Queen's Park High School for this year's Open Evening on Wednesday 17th September 2025 from 6.00pm - 8.00pm.
During the course of the evening, families will be able to take a guided tour of the school with our Sixth Form students and have the chance to see:
- Queen’s Park High School students at work in different subject areas
- Displays of students’ work and information
- Teachers and support staff in all areas of the school
- SENCo and Pastoral Support Teams
Children will also have the opportunity to get involved in a range of exciting activities taking place in each of the subject areas around the school and sample Queen’s Park High School food with tasty treats served by our school catering team in The Eatery (school dining area).
During the evening our Headteacher, Mr Kearns will give two presentations, one at 6.10pm which will be repeated at 7.00pm, in the Main Hall. The presentation is designed to give families a brief introduction to the school together with an overview of the transition process throughout the year ahead.
As part of the presentation, some of our Year 7 and Sixth Form students will share their own experiences and views on life at Queen's Park High School.
Members of the Senior Leadership Team, school governors and The Learning Trust members are also available throughout the evening to answer any questions.
Please note, no booking is required for our Open Evening, just arrive at our school's main reception.
Can't make it to our Open Evening, then come along to one of our Open Mornings.
Open Mornings
Our Open Mornings provide parents and children with an opportunity to experience what the school feels like during a normal working day and to meet some of our students and staff, including Headteacher: Mr Kearns and Transition Lead: Mrs Bearcroft.
Our Open Mornings will take place on:
- Thursday 18th September 2025 from 9.15am - 12.00pm
- Friday 19th September 2025 from 9.15am-12.00pm
- Monday 22nd September 2025 from 9.15am-12.00pm
- March and June - dates TBC
Tours can take up to 45 minutes and should be booked in advance by contacting reception.

Prize draw
As an added bonus to the evening we will be running a FREE prize draw and fun quiz, where you could win a £50 'Dining Out' gift card courtesy of Queen's Park High School, to spend at some of the nation’s favourite restaurants.
To enter, all you have to do is come along to our Open Evening, bring your flyer and your name will; be entered into the draw. If you win – the gift card is yours! We’ve 9 runner up prizes up for grabs too!
We hope to announce the results before October half-term - Friday 26th September 2025.

Apply now for a place in Year 7
As our school is expanding, there is a growing demand for places for students in Year 7 at Queen's Park High School. To apply for your child's place in Year 7 for September 2026, applications open on 1st September 2025. To avoid disappointment and to help to secure your place, please ensure Queen's Park High School is selected as your 1st choice on the application form and submit before the deadline of 31st October 2025.
