As we were unable to hold our planned Induction Evening in May for Year 6 children and their families due to the pandemic outbreak, Headteacher, Miss Watterson and Senior Assistant Headteacher & Transition Lead, Mrs Scanlon have recorded their evening's talk to produce this virtual online presentation. During the video Miss Watterson and Mrs Scanlon introduce themselves and give parents/carers and Year 6 students information about day to day life at Queen's Park High School and the transition process to high school.
We look forward to welcoming you and your families into the Queen's Park High School community very soon.
Choosing the right school for your son/daughter is an important decision and at Queen’s Park High School we strive to give you as much insight and information as possible to help you with this process.
We organise an Open Evening in September along with Open Sessions throughout the year to enable families of Year 5 and 6 students to visit the school prior to making their Secondary School preference selection in October.

We look forward to welcoming your family to the Queen's Park High School Community.
While most parents/carers will be able to send their child off to start their educational journey at the high school of their preference in September, there will be a handful who may not have been allocated their preferred choice. The reason for this is usually that the demand for places is higher than those available. In this instance you should receive a letter from the school stating why your child has not been admitted.
If we cannot offer you a place you have the right to appeal, which will be determined by an Independent Appeal Panel. The Appeal Form can be downloaded below.
If the closing date to apply for a place in Year 7 for September has passed, you can still submit a late application - please refer to pages 9-10 of the Transferring to Secondary School booklet for further information on late applications (see attachment below)
Cheshire West and Chester Cabinet determined the local authority's 2020-2021 admission arrangements and coordinated admissions scheme on 6 February 2019 in accordance with the statutory requirements of the School Admissions Code which states that admission authorities must determine their arrangements by 28 February 2019.
