Admissions & Entry Requirements

Please note the closing date for applications into Year 12 for September 2024 is Friday 16th February 2024. To secure your place, please complete the enrolment forms at the bottom of this page.

Applications are welcomed from both current students and those studying at other institutions.  Every year we hold a Sixth Form Open Evening where students can find out more about life in Queen's Park High School Sixth Form, option choices available and have the opportunity to meet Curriculum Team Leaders and teachers of A Level and Level 3 subjects. Guidance on entry requirements is subject to change in line with government updates, but as a broad indication, we expect the following:

Full A-Level Package (3-4* A Level courses)
  • 5+ GCSEs at grades 9-4 including a strong pass (grade 5) in English and maths
  • Grade 6 in Maths entry requirement to study Maths A Level
  • Grade 6 in Science and maths recommended to study Biology, Chemistry and Physics A Levels. Students must have sat the higher tier papers for Science and Maths.

* The option to take 4 A’ Level courses will be made only in exceptional circumstances

Level 3 Package (mix of A Level and vocational Level 3 courses)
  • 5+ GCSEs at grades 9-4
  • Grade 6 in Maths entry requirement to study Maths A Level
  • Grade 6 in Science and maths recommended to study Biology, Chemistry and Physics A Levels. Students must have sat the higher tier papers for Science and Maths.

Students who have not achieved a grade 4 in English and/or maths will be required to continue their study of maths and English until they have achieved this level.

Uniformed Protective Services 
Level 3 BTEC National Diploma in Uniformed Services (equivalent to 3 A Levels)
  • 5 GCSES grades 9-3

In addition to successful completion of the recruitment process.
