Overview
Like all other Advanced Level subjects, A level and AS level History are difficult- that is why they are called ‘advanced’. KS5 students will build on knowledge and understanding of history that they developed at GCSE and KS3- ideas like ‘historical sources’ and ‘cause and consequence’ for example. Students will need to do a lot of reading and writing to progress in History. Most importantly, they will need to do a lot of thinking and thinking about their thinking. Our curriculum is designed to support our students and develop both their knowledge and understanding of in depth historical concepts, enabling them to construct knowledge about the world through research, interpretation, argument and debate.
