Overview
Science A Levels at QPHS are popular subjects taught by subject specialists. All subjects follow the AQA specification which combine a mix of challenging theory and rigorous practical work. Many of our students go onto to study science and STEM based subjects at university.
Overview – Biology
At Key Stage 5, we currently follow the AQA A Level Biology specification (7401/7402). The course covers all aspects of biological science ranging from cell structure to genetics to ecosystems. Students study Biology over 9 hours per fortnight and co-taught by two teachers.

Overview – Chemistry
At Key Stage 5, we currently follow the AQA A Level Chemistry specification (7404/7405). The course covers all aspects of chemical science across Organic, Inorganic and Physical Chemistry. Students study Chemistry over 9 hours per fortnight and co-taught by two teachers.

Overview – Physics
At Key Stage 5, we currently follow the AQA A Level Physics specification (7407/7408). The course covers all aspects of physical science ranging from Forces to Electricity to Radioactivity. Students study Physics over 9 hours per fortnight and co-taught by two teachers. During Year 13, students follow an optional module.
