Support Save the Children's Christmas Jumper Day and your local food bank on Thursday 7th December 2023

Christmas Jumper Day

On Thursday 7th December, we are holding our annual Christmas Jumper Day to raise funds for Save the Children UK. This will be a festive-themed day on which students are still required to come to school in their school uniform but can wear a Christmas jumper and/or Christmas accessories - they do not need to wear a blazer on this day, but must wear the rest of their uniform. We request a voluntary donation to be made via ParentMail, with all proceeds going to Save the Children UK.

As it's the season of giving, we can't think of a better way to spread the spirit of Christmas than to support our local West Cheshire Food Bank, as we have done in previous years.

We are encouraging all our QPHS family to bring in food donations and share a gift of kindness to those local people in crisis this Christmas.

We know that this Christmas will be particularly tough for many of our families and the wider community as the impact of inflation, price rises and energy costs takes hold. For those of us who are able to support, we are asking those students and staff who are willing and able, to bring in an item for our Food Bank Appeal on Thursday 7th December. All donations will then be taken to the distribution centre for the West Cheshire Food Bank.

West Cheshire Food Bank are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, that work to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

Donation boxes will be placed at both the rear-link entrance to school for students to drop their items in on their way into school, and also in our Main Reception should any members of our community wish to drop off and support our appeal.

Please find below a list of desperately sought-after items compiled by the Food Bank. Please note there is no expectation that students will donate, only give what you can and are able.
